Though I’m headlong in a fulfilling career as a public relations practitioner, I read this book on my morning train commute. Transparency dictates that I inform you Peter has been a friend for many years, and he asked me to read his book and provide a review. With that, understand I mean every word: this book, to me, represents “how to†literature at its best. But rather than teach you how to pursue and perfect a particular hobby or academic endeavor, Sims, in an approachable and “you-can-do-it†manner, provides a clear path to establishing and maintaining a career in home health care PT. One of the endearing aspects of the book is that Sims is open with his own career missteps so that the reader doesn’t make the same mistakes. As such, Sims is successful in welcoming the reader to relax and sit back as though he was giving a tour of his hometown to an old friend. Sims’ love for his job and his patients is admirable and authentic as the pages turn, and over the course of the book you begin to feel like he is actually pulling for you, the reader. While I certainly recommend the book to those considering a career in HHPT, I think a variety of medical pros should read it for an understanding of what is possible when you combine sincerity, empathy, and professionalism with persistence.

His encouraging, warm personality comes through in his writing, and it is clear that he really cares for his patients and strives for excellence in all that he does.
